The primary focus of Austin’s practice is on Automotive Products Liability and Consumer Products litigation. He has successfully handled cases in State and Federal Court involving defective tires, airbags, seatbelts, industrial machinery, fitness equipment, hip implants, handheld steamers, pressure cookers, e-cigarettes, cargo trailers, and a number of other defective products. A number of these cases have contributed to the recall of dangerous and defective products. Austin is often associated by other lawyers to handle cases involving defective products and regularly lectures on issues pertaining to products liability cases. Super Lawyers has named him a Rising Star in the area of Products Liability from 2017 – 2024.

While he primarily handles cases involving defective products, Austin has also successfully handled cases involving tractor trailer collisions, roadway defects, motor vehicle collisions, agricultural equipment, and premises liability.

Austin is a native of Hampton County and has strong ties to the local community. After graduating from law school, he served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Doyet A. Early, III, Second Judicial Circuit Judge. He and his wife, Kensley, live outside of Beaufort along with their two daughters Lawson and Swain.
