Attorney Ronnie Crosby Represents Families in Lexington School Bus Tragedy
Parker Law Group is representing the parents of eight Lexington Two School District children who were aboard a school bus that overturned this spring, killing a 13-year-old.
That lawsuit, filed in Chester County Circuit Court, alleges negligence from the bus manufacturer Blue Bird, a local school bus dealer for selling the bus with an allegedly defective tire, the school district and a local mechanic shop for improper tire inspection, and Cooper Tire for an inherent design flaw in the tire.
The crash occurred on Interstate 77 in April after a bus tire blew out. Though the S.C. Highway Patrol investigation blamed three small nails embedded in the tire, saying that the nails ultimately led to corrosion and the tire failure, an expert engineer found a different cause.
Parker Law Group partner Ronnie L. Crosby, who is recognized as a leader in product liability litigation, told the Post & Courier that an engineer he consulted said that nails were not a factor in the tire failure. Instead, the failure was due to a “dangerous defect” in the tire.
